Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how BrewMatch handles information on the website and in the BrewMatch iPhone app. The website and the iPhone app work differently: the website may collect limited information for guide delivery, email preferences, and analytics, while the Version 1.0 iPhone app is local-first and does not require an account.

Website information

On the website, BrewMatch collects the email address you submit when you request a guide or join a waitlist. For guide signups, we may also store the guide slug, signup source, consent version, consent timestamp, delivery status, sequence status, unsubscribe status, and basic event records such as signup, download, and unsubscribe events.

We use this information to deliver requested guides, send related follow-up emails, honor unsubscribe choices, prevent duplicate sequence enrollment, and troubleshoot delivery issues.

We do not require your name, phone number, address, coffee equipment, or coffee preferences to download a guide.

iPhone app information

BrewMatch for iPhone helps you check a cup, get one next brew test, and optionally save that test in a tiny local brew journal. Version 1.0 does not require an account, login, subscription, camera, location, contacts, microphone, photo library, or cloud sync.

If you save a cup check, the app may store brew method, cup clues, flow or timing clues, grinder situation, the recommendation generated by the app, an optional short note, an optional reminder date, and an optional Better, Same, or Worse outcome. This information stays on your iPhone unless you delete it or clear local history.

BrewMatch Version 1.0 does not send saved cup checks, journal notes, recommendations, or reminder dates to Promptara Lab servers. The app uses local Apple system logging for development and diagnostic event names, and does not include a third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

Notifications

The iPhone app asks for notification permission only if you choose to set a reminder. Notifications are used to remind you to try a saved next brew test. If you decline permission, Cup Check, recommendations, History, and Settings still work.

Website processors and analytics

BrewMatch stores website signup and event records in Supabase and sends email through Resend. The site also uses privacy-minded website analytics, including Vercel Analytics and the analytics script already present on BrewMatch, to understand page visits and major actions without sending full email addresses to website analytics.

Email providers may report delivery, bounce, complaint, unsubscribe, and link-click information. We do not rely on email open rates as a primary metric.

Retention, deletion, and contact

BrewMatch keeps website guide signup records while the guide funnel is active so we can deliver the guide, respect unsubscribe choices, avoid duplicate sequence enrollment, and troubleshoot delivery issues. Every ongoing guide or marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.

In the iPhone app, saved journal entries remain on your device until you delete individual entries, clear local history in Settings, or remove the app according to iOS behavior. Because Version 1.0 does not create accounts or store app journal data on BrewMatch servers, there is no remote app account-deletion process.
